This exciting and varied role working with this family run software business. The main part of this role is to develop bolt on items to our legacy software ( all VB6 with a very small amount of .net thrown in.
Preferred Languages : Knowledge of MS-SQL - SQLServer, VB6,
VB.Net, ASP.NET, Java and C# are an advantage as is crystal reporting
Working with a small team of developers to design and develop additional software solutions for our warehouse desktop application and mobile solutions( pda picking, barcode scanning )Responsibilities would include developing robust software addons, creating a schedule of works where required, (project plan) and ultimately delivering the best solution to meet the customers needs. Additional responsibilities will include performing hands-on development and debugging/ support activities through our systems.
Must have good visual design sense and creative drive Must be a quick learner and be adaptable to new technologies Ability to write and maintain high quality code Ability to multi task and good time management skills Excellent scoping and time estimation skills Excellent testing/ QA skills Ability to implement features on schedule, to a high quality Ability to manage bug/ fix list for all development milestones Liaise with fellow engineers to develop robust solutions; perform peer code reviews and testing of software. Work to set KPI’s and encourage team to hit targets Identify areas for change
The ideal candidate will need to work effectively in a team as well as independently. Must be able to learn quickly and work well under pressure.
